On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Vrije Universiteit Brussel is launching the photo exhibition “Zij is Wetenschap”, celebrating inspiring women in science. We are proud to share that Prof. Imke Baetens is among the featured researchers.
The exhibition highlights women who make a meaningful impact through their scientific work. Prof. Baetens is recognized for her contributions to youth mental health research and her commitment to translating psychological science into practice and policy.
Her work on self-harm, prevention, and resilience in young people has had substantial societal impact, both within clinical settings and through broader public engagement. This acknowledgment reflects not only her scientific excellence, but also her dedication to improving mental health outcomes for vulnerable groups.
Role models in science matter — especially for the next generation of researchers and practitioners.
